Presentation

Miró and the Catalan Poets is part of the series of books that Enciclopèdia Art has dedicated to the great names of 20th-century Catalan art, such as Picasso, Dalí or Tàpies.

In this case, the protagonist is one of our most universal, valued, and sought-after painters. And the way to approach him is through a book of books, a compilation of all the works that Miró created with Catalan poets: J.V. Foix, Salvador Espriu, Joan Brossa, Salvat-Papasseit…

In many cases, those collaborations resulted in very limited editions; therefore, having managed to bring them all together in a single volume represents an extraordinary editorial and cultural initiative, as well as a unique opportunity to discover largely unpublished material.

This is a numbered edition, limited to 1,500 copies, consisting of a large-format book and a study book within a slipcase. The project has been directed by Vicenç Altaió, one of the leading experts on the painter, and has had the close collaboration of the successors of Joan Miró, the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, and the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma.
