Who we are

Limited Edition Art Books

Enciclopèdia Art is a publishing imprint specializing in art books, bibliophile editions, and limited editions, based in Barcelona. Its catalog features scholarly books dedicated to Catalan artists and large-format works on various art-related themes, conceived as unique pieces both for their content and their material execution.

Enciclopèdia Art is part of the Grup Enciclopèdia, a publishing institution founded in 1965 with the publication of the first volume of the Enciclopèdia Catalana, a pioneering project written entirely in Catalan. Since then, the group has maintained a constant commitment to innovation, editorial excellence, and the defense of the Catalan language and culture, even during times when they were repressed or prohibited.

In 1980, the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana was created to bring together all the entity’s companies, which formed a solid publishing group with a strong presence in the sector for decades. Currently, it comprises four publishing imprints, each specializing in a different area: Text, Enciclopèdia, Enciclopèdia Art, and Diccionaris de l’Enciclopèdia.

True to this legacy, Enciclopèdia Art’s mission is to bring the art of universal Catalan creators beyond the borders of Catalonia, Spain, and Europe, and to make it present in the cultural consciousness of the contemporary world. Our catalog features exclusive and unpublished works by internationally renowned Catalan artists such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, Jaume Plensa, Perejaume, Pablo Picasso, and Joan Brossa, among others. Most works are published in Catalan, but some also have Spanish and English versions.

The imprint has also published reference titles dedicated to key institutions and figures of Catalan culture, such as Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya · De Taüll a Tàpies, L’art del gravat català or Catalan Painting. The Second Avant-Gardes , directed by prestigious specialists in their respective fields. Today, Enciclopèdia Art is a benchmark in the publishing of art books in Catalan and actively participates in international sector fairs such as ArtsLibris (Barcelona) or ARCO (Madrid).
