Plensa·Macbeth·Verdi is a limited and numbered two-volume bibliophile edition, published by Enciclopèdia Art. It faithfully reproduces the creations that artist Jaume Plensa made during the conception of the opera Macbeth, which he himself directed and premiered at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona in 2023. From the drawings with waxes, pencils, and gouache, printed at actual size, to the digital illustrations he used as a visual script to explain his ideas to the team.
Plensa·Macbeth·Verdi is also an autonomous work of art, a retrospective glance in which we recognize Jaume Plensa’s universe and most representative works, for example in the metal silhouettes conceived exclusively for this edition, which, transcending the limits of the book, become a subtle and versatile Plensian landscape of great beauty.
