Biography

He holds a degree in Art History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he specialized in contemporary art. He began his professional career in museum management and exhibition organization. Between 1996 and 2000, he served as exhibition coordinator and sponsorship manager at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), where he participated in tasks related to exhibition programming and fundraising.

Subsequently, between 2002 and 2005, he was responsible for Cultural Services and general coordinator of the Fundació Caixa Catalunya, an institution where he assumed management and coordination roles in the cultural field. In 2005, he joined the Government of Catalonia as Deputy Director General of Museums and Promotion of Cultural Heritage, a position he held until 2006, from which he was involved in the management and promotion of the country’s museum system and cultural heritage.

Between 2006 and 2011, he served as director of the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, an institution he led for five years. Since December 2011, he has been the director of the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), where he holds the general directorship of the museum.

He is also the director of the workEnciclopèdia Art Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya · De Taüll a Tàpies, dedicated to the museum’s collection and trajectory.
